Artist Statement

If my house was on fire and I had the opportunity to grab something as I ran screaming through  a doorway of flames, I would take my photographs and my jewelry. To me, jewelry is special. People have sought to adorn themselves for as long as we've walked this spinning globe of contradictions and beauty we call home.We wear jewelry to express what's on the inside. We wear it when no one else is around. The jewelry that you put on invokes the type of experiences that you hope to have.  You have to search for the pieces that call  to you, and you can collect them like memories. Certain pieces of jewelry remind us of specific times in our lives. Others remind us of places we've been, journeys both internal and external. By far the most special are the ones given to us by loved ones. When you wear them, you carry your whole history with you and your hopes for the future...across your heart, on your fingers and wrists, dangling from your ear lobes. Getting a new piece of jewelry is like daydreaming of faraway travels. You never know where this new lucky bijou might take you, but you can be sure that while you're wearing it, adventures you never dreamed of will be had and new characters will be added to your story.
